Program Facilitating Training

Youth are eligible to apply into our Program Facilitating training programs, the Snack Bar, Administration office if they have existing employment barriers, are between the ages of 18-24 and are willing to work full time as they learn a new skill.  Minimum wage apply.

The Process
Resumes  and application forms are accepted at the Kids Place main office on a continuous basis and youth are contacted directly for interviews when positions become available. Application form can be downloaded online.
Youth who are hired must successfully complete a month of probation before they are officially accepted into the program. Success in this first month is monitored through attendance, punctuality, attitude and willingness to impact.

Youth hired into our facilitating training programs are  expected to participate in courses, which are  centered around personal goal setting, understanding how to communicate with kids, child psychology, various intervention techniques, classroom discipline techniques and more. Youth who successfully complete this program may eventually be hired as a  Program Facilitator  or a Mentor when positions become available.

Director of Programs
Job Description

The Program director oversees the development and implementation of all programs. The Program director ensures program quality and performance related to recruiting,  training, screening, matching, monitoring, and closing the relationship with the mentor and child, and communicates with the mentor, parent/guardian, and child throughout the relationship.
Reporting to the executive director, the Program director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of all programs, and will carry out the responsibilities of the position as defined by the Executive Director.

Qualification for Director Of Programs

Bachelor’s degree preferred with emphasis in social work, psychology, volunteer management, and/or education
Two or more years experience in child development, working within community organizations and/or schools preferred
Have expert knowledge of  our program policies and procedures
Extremely strong organizational, writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills
Creativity and flexibility are essential in assuming significant responsibility
Experience working in racially, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse urban communities preferred


Compensation:
Starting salary range: $60,000–70,000 per annum, plus a benefits package that includes vacation, medical, dental, life insurance, transportation benefit.
